At the Botanical Gardens

After attending a musical at the children's theater we had lunch at the Botanical Gardens in Downtown Fort worth. Had to use my cell to take pics.

New visitors

This morning I was looking out the window while doing dishes and these two flew right past landing in the pool. After taking a stroll around the entire pool, they decided to hop out and check out the side yard under the trees. Matthew asked "where are they going mom?" and I said to the grass. Matthew replied "the ants will bite the ducks."
Sorry about the fuzzy picture, I had to take it from the window so I wouldn't scare them off.

My favorite season

This is what I wake up to each morning now. The leaves are still coming in so the mornings are just getting more beautiful every day. Pretty soon the banana trees will be taking up most of the view. Our critter friends are starting to come out more often as well.

Fossil Rim Wildlife Center

You have to click on this picture and just look into those gorgeous eyes.

As you drive through there are several look out views

Aoudad aka Barbary sheep seemed very friendly and came running to greet us as we drove up. This one ate right out of my hand.

Madison and Matthew with friends from school

It didn't take long to spot a Giraffe, they saw us coming first.

I think the giraffes know if you still have food left

The park staff said not to feed the zebras by hand because they bite but that didn't stop them from sticking theirs heads inside your vehicles.

I loved just looking at their eyes and lashes, kind of reminded me of Madison's. Big, dark, gentle, Innocent eyes with beautiful long lashes.

Halfway through the park is a restaurant, gift shop, petting zoo and wolf exhibit but we weren't able to see any wolves.

At the restaurant having an ice cream break.

The kids had so much fun riding in the back of a friends truck and feeding all the animals. Mostly just throwing the food on the ground for them. The kids weren't to excited about all the giraffe drool but they were still good sports about it. I honestly thought someone would end up crying and beg to come inside the car with us.
