The Sixth Floor Museum

Click on this picture so you can read it better

Intersection of Houston and Elm streets is where the Texas School Book Depository is located.

This is the second X that marks the fatal head shot of President Kennedy.

When we first arrived at the Museum, we were approached by a man who gave us an outside tour and detailed information regarding the assassination. He explained to us what we would learn inside the museum and then gave us his opinion about what really happened. He use to do tours inside the building before they started using the audio systems. Here we are standing on the "Grassy Knoll" where the possible second shot came from. There is a picket fence just to the left of myself but didn't get it in the picture (sorry).

Standing up on the grassy knoll

This is a picture from the sixth floor and the only one I was able to take from inside the building. This window is located by the elevator on the other side of the building. They do not allow any photography in the Museum so we were unable to take a picture from the actual snipers nest. They have that section cornered off with glass windows with an exhibit inside so you can only look in. There are other windows you can look out as you walk past it.

Inside the museum there are many photographs, videos, artifacts and an audio system that gives you the tour. It was very interesting to listen to the different theories and be able to walk around where the JFK Assassination took place.

Trails at the park

We use to love taking walks on our trails in Arizona. Parks and lots of trails that lead you through a natural desert wash was the best about our old community. Now we get to admire lots of trees and beautiful colors on our walks. The kids love to play at the playground at this park or ride their bikes around when it was summer. Through the trails it would be completely shaded and a great way to get out of the heat.

Madison loves to help decorate the tree every year. As soon as she started seeing decorations in our town she bugged me for days to get the decorations down.

At the Gaylord Texan

We had a great time showing Nana and Pops around Texas. We took them to our favorite BBQ, the Gaylord Texan, and walked around Dallas and Fort worth. Wish you could've stayed longer.
